NWJHL

The semi-final matchups are set in the Northwest Junior Hockey League.

Beaverlodge will play LaCrete in one series while Peace River will play Fort St. John in the other.

The Blades completed a sweep in their best-of-five series Friday with a 3-1 in Dawson Creek.

The Lumber Barons also completed a sweep Friday with a 10-0 win in Sexsmith.

The Navigators beat the County Wheat Kings 4-2 at home Saturday to take that series 3-1.

Fort St. John had an opening-round bye.

NPHL

The North Peace Hockey League’s division finals resume Saturday.

Dawson Creek is in Spirit River for Game 2 in the West Division final. The Canucks won Game 1 Sunday at home 4-3.

Falher is in Manning Tuesday for Game 2 in the East Division final.

The Pirates won Game 1 at home 7-4 on Saturday.

Game 3 in both series will be played Thursday in Dawson Creek and Falher respectively.

Storm

The Storm completed a weekend home sweep of Drumheller with a 4-2 win Sunday afternoon.

Grande Prairie also beat the Dragons 3-1 on Saturday.

There are three games left in the regular season.

Grande Prairie is in Whitecourt Wednesday for a 7 p.m. face-off, then wrap up the regular season Friday and Saturday at home versus Fort McMurray.

Game times will be 7 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday.

Saturday’s game is also Indigenous Celebration Night.

Wolves

The season came to an end for the Northwestern Polytechnic men’s basketball team on Saturday.

The Wolves lost 74-70 to Lakeland College in Vermilion.

Men’s basketball was the only basketball or volleyball from NWP to advance to the playoffs.
