Spots still left for annual Easter Eggstravaganza

Mar 5, 2024 | 6:00 AM

The City of Grande Prairie’s annual Easter Eggstravaganza is set to take over the Grande Prairie Museum on Saturday, March 30.

Spots for regular egg hunts are limited but are still available, while inclusive time slots still have a large number of vacancies.

Anyone wanting to attend with their child will need to pay the $5 fee, (per child) and book their time slot on the city’s website.

New to the event this year is the city offering a Toddler Egg Hunt in the Easter Garden for kids aged 2 to 4.

Mayor Jackie Clayton said in a release; “We added a new toddler-focused egg hunt, as well as continuing to offer the inclusive time slot, to ensure families get the opportunity to come out, enjoy some treats and have some Easter fun.”

The annual Easter colouring contest is also already underway, with a submission deadline set for April 5.

Any kids wanting to take part can find the colouring sheet on the city’s website, and submit their finished product to events@cityofgp.com.

The city will then host a random draw on April 10 and select a winner from each age group to receive a bike.

The city also wants to remind residents this event is a “mix of indoors and outdoors, so please dress appropriately for weather conditions.”
