Two Grande Prairie residents charged for mail theft

After a string of thefts from mailboxes between December 14, 2023 and January 22, 2024, RCMP have charged two locals on multiple offences.

The Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit began investigating the thefts on January 30 and from video surveillance from one of the 27 thefts reported, they were able to identify a male suspect and his vehicle.

A search warrant was obtained by Mounties.

Following the search two suspects, a woman and man, were subsequently arrested.

Thirty-year-old Gary Cameron McKeever and 29-year-old Beth Seymour have both been charged with:

  • Possession of Matter Stolen from Mail
  • Theft from Mail
  • Illegal Possession of Government Documents
  • Possession of Prohibited Weapon
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Break-in instrument
  • Possession of forged document
  • Possession of Crack/Cocaine
  • Possession of Meth

The two were brought before a Justice of the Peace and were released.

They are to appear in Grande Prairie court on March 13, 2024.
