Smokey River Transportation Program wins Provincial award
This year’s recipient of the Minister’s Transporation Award has been announced.
It has been awarded to the Smokey River Transportation Program; which saw five communities, Fahler, McLennan, Donnelly, Girouxville and Smokey River, pool their resources to improve “mobility and accessibility for vulnerable populations in the region.”
This award recognizes Smokey River’s Transportation program for it’s “groundbreaking innovation, marked by resource pooling and outside-the-box thinking.”
In a release, Fahler Mayor, Donna Buchinski said “Today, we celebrate a milestone for the Smoky River region as Smoky River Transportation is honoured with the prestigious 2024 Minister’s Award for Transportation Innovation. This recognition underscores the Region’s commitment to pioneering solutions, fostering collaboration, and ensuring accessible transportation for all.”
