Fairview Health Complex ED without a physician three times in the next week

The Fairview Health Complex emergency department will be without an onsite physician, for a combined 120 hours this week.

The first will take place from 7 a.m. Monday, March 25 until 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26.

During the closure, EMS will remain available to reroute calls to neighbouring facilities.

Nursing staff will also remain on the site to perform urgent triage assessments and referrals to nearby hospitals.

Two more 48-hour disruptions are expected this week, with one taking place on Wednesday, March 27 at 7 a.m. until Friday, March 29, and the other lasting from Saturday, March 30 also at 7 a.m. until Monday, April 1.

These disruptions could be cancelled if coverage is found.
