International non-for-profits donate to County Fire Services

The County of Grande Prairie is welcoming three new Fire Skid units to its fire services fleet.

The County received these machines by donation, thanks to the international non-for-profit’s GlobalFire and GlobalMedic.

It was part of GlobalFire and GlobalMedic’s initiative of supplying 60 of these units to Canadian communities affected by last summer’s wildfires.

These units consist of a water tank, pump and hose that mounts to a pickup truck, so firefighters can access those “hard-to-reach areas,” and extinguish the blazes before it gets out of control.
