City to begin replacement work on Lakeland Drive culvert May 1

City of Grande Prairie work crews will begin working to replace the culvert crossing on Lakeland Drive next week.

The crossing between 95 Street and 123 Avenue near the Crystal Lake dog park is being replaced with a new concrete design to enhance safety and reliability and to install new manholes as well as surface repairs.

While the construction is ongoing, Lakeland Drive will be temporarily reduced to a single lane with alternating flow, regulated by traffic lights, with a detour available for pedestrian traffic and an operational bus stop.

The work begins May 1.
