Annual GP Grows: Dig It set to take place in May

The city’s annual GP Grows: Dig It event is set to return to the Grande Prairie Activity & Reception Centre on May 11.

Thanks to positive community feedback from the prior events, residents are once again invited to pick up free potato and onion seeds, along with some triple mix soil.

Taking place from noon to 4 p.m. the event will run on a first-come, first-serve basis, with city staff also being on-site to answer any gardening questions and to provide tips.

In a release, the city did ask residents to bring a pail or container for the soil, adding “A green thumb is not required to partake in this complimentary program.”
