Grande Prairie Pride Society hosting multiple events for Pride Month

The Grande Prairie Pride Society has several large-scale events planned for June.

The society is hosting the events to celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ people in Grande Prairie and will feature four drag superstars from Canada’s Drag Race.

The festivities get started Friday, May 31, with the Rainbow Bright Teen Dance for youth 13 to 17 featuring the Blue Bird Dancers, FLIP Entertainment as the DJ, and former Grande Prairie residents Kendall Gender and Denim from Canada’s Drag Race and Edmonton Drag King Gabe August.

A similar event, the Party in White will be happening at the Bowes on saturday, June 1, for older audiences with the Blue Bird Dancers, Flip Gender, Denim, and August in attendance alongside drag performers Icesis Couture and Lemon.

    • Rainbow Crosswalk repaint at the intersection of 103 Avenue and 98 Street, near Grande Prairie City Hall and the Montrose Cultural Centre
  • June 8 – 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
    • Pride Family Carnival at the Eastlink Centre
  • June 27
    • Pride Month proclamation and Chamber of Commerce Mixer at Grande Prairie Public Library
