Four gang members arrested in Fox Lake

RCMP n Fort Vermillion/Fox Lake have caught and arrested four members of a gang calling itself A$AP.

On Friday, June 14, 2024, Mounties received a call about hearing gunshots in the area of Laboucan Road in Fox Lake. Officers attended the scene and arrested three individuals.

A search warrant was executed on a home with help from Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services and the Western Alberta District General Investigation Section. Police found five long guns, two sets of body armour, and a small amount of suspected cocaine.

The three arrested individuals, all proclaimed members of A$AP, are Fox Lake residents.

Twenty-seven-year-old, Stanley Bill Laboucan and 34-year-old Luke Hank Laboucan were charged with:

• Pointing a firearm;
• Discharge firearm with intent
• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
• Possession of weapon while unauthorized
• Careless use of a firearm
• Possession of prohibited device

The three were brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. Dusty and Stanley have court in Fort Vermillion on Monday, June 17, and Luke will be in the same court on Tuesday, June 25.

Following the arrests of the the three Laboucans, an additional alleged member of the A$AP gang was arrested the next day (June 15, 2024).

Police officers collected additional information the day prior, and arrested 33-year-old John Ringo St. Arnault of High Level. He was found in Fox Lake, where he had nine warrants out for his arrest and was under conditions to not be in the community of Fox Lake.

St. Arnault was charged with:

• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Possession of a firearm when unauthorized
• Failure to comply with order (x3)

St. Arnault was remanded into custody after meeting with a Justice of the Peace and is in Fort Vermillion court on Monday, June 17.

S.Sgt Kevin Wright, Detachment Commander of the Fort Vermilion RCMP said in a release, “We know that firearm and gang-related violence have been a major concern for the residents of the Fox Lake, John D’Or Prairie and Little Red River Cree Nation communities and we are happy to be able to address these issues and will keep on doing so in the future.”
