STARS & Birch Hills County to celebrate “historical donation milestone”

STARS Air Ambulance will host a celebration tomorrow (Friday, June 21) alongside Birch Hills County, to recognize the County’s contribution to the not-for-profit.

Taking place at the Eaglesham Ag Society Fairgrounds at 11 a.m.; STARS plans on unveiling a Birch Hills County logo on one of their H145 helicopters to symbolize the County’s “historic $500,000 donation milestone” to the not-for-profit, over its 17-year partnership.

Birch Hills County Reeve Albert Poetker said in a release, “STARS services are irreplaceable for Birch Hills County as there are no hospitals within the county borders, making STARS a critical lifeline for our rural residents.“

Since 2019, STARS has completed 16 critical scene missions within Birch Hills County, and over 1,500 in Alberta last year alone.

To date, the County is currently involved in a four-year pledge with STARS, supporting their operations in the area until 2025.
