Wildfire danger rating High for the Grande Prairie Forest Area and Very High in High Level

Jun 21, 2024 | 7:20 AM

The Grande Prairie Forest Area Wildfire ating has returned to High.

The potential for lightning-caused fires will be of concern over the next few days and fire lookouts will be on high alert, constantly watching for smoke.

The only wildfire of note near the area at this time is the Kleskun Creek Fire east of Teepee Creek, that declared as under control May 19.

Meanwhile in the High Level Forest Area the rating has reached Very High, with seven fires currently burning and one, HWF030, labeled as out of control, prompting an evacuation notice by the County of Mackenzie for Zama City.
