City and County of Grande Prairie seeking public feedback for draft Intermunicipal Development Plan

Jun 25, 2024 | 1:31 PM

The City and County of Grande Prairie are seeking public feedback on the draft Intermunicipal Development Plan.

The two municipalities say the IDP is a long-term strategic plan required by the Municipal Government Act to outline a vision for development and infrastructure near municipal boundaries.

The city and county will be holding a pair of open house events next month to give residents the opportunity to review changes and updates to the document and provide feedback.

Mayor Jackie Clayton says the IDP guides land use to ensure the city and county continue to collaborate and achieve a shared vision for growth.

County Reeve Bob Marshall says the update will provide a coordinated framework that will serve well into the future.

The open houses take place:

  • July 18 | 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. | LSM Room, TARA Centre, Evergreen Park.
  • July 19 | 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Teresa Sargent Hall, Montrose Cultural Centre, 9839 103 Ave, Grande Prairie
