Fatality at La Crete Canada Day Parade

A person tragically died during the Canada Day Parade in La Crete on Monday July 1, 2024.

RCMP in Fort Vermillion say they were dispatched to the scene of the accident alongside EMS at 11:43 a.m. along the parade route.

A 45-year old man from Mackenzie County had fallen off equipment he was throwing candy from and sustained fatal injuries.

The name of the deceased has not been released by authorities and RCMP send their condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.
