Alberta Infrastructure releases assessment reports on St. Thomas More Catholic School

Holy Family Catholic Regional School Division is awaiting approval of the Ministerial Order to complete the transfer of St. Thomas More Catholic School.

HFCRD and Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools have been collaborating for most of the year to organize the transfer of STM and the surrounding ward to HFCRD, following a request from the St. Thomas More School Parent Council.

The soon-to-be school division is now entering into discussions with Alberta Infrastructure and Alberta Education regarding the next steps in the process and to determine the future of the building.

Alberta Infrastructure has completed several assessments at STM in the run up to the transfer.

The assessments, as part of GPCSD’s capital planning process, looked at the school’s hazardous materials, facility conditions, and overall life cycle cost.
