Saturday horse races cancelled, wiener dogs run on Sunday

There will be no horse racing at Evergreen Park on Saturday. Park officials say this is because there are not enough horses available.

Sunday’s races will go ahead.

Besides eight horse races, Sunday will also feature the annual Wiener Dog Derby.

There are 26 dogs entered in the derby this year.

“ They will be racing following Heats 2, 3 and 4 of the horse races with the dog racing final after horse racing Heat 7,” says a release from Evergreen Park.
