Substitutes key as surging Vancouver Whitecaps top Sporting Kansas City 2-1
VANCOUVER — Fafa Picault came off the bench to score in the second half and the Vancouver Whitecaps dispatched Sporting Kansas City 2-1 on Wednesday.
The ‘Caps (11-7-5) controlled play across much of the first half, but saw two goals erased for offside calls.
Vancouver settled for an own goal by Kansas City defender Robert Valoder in the 34th minute.
Sporting (6-14-5) looked more lively to start the second half and got a tally from Willy Agada in the 69th minute.
