Grande Prairie local committed to Edmonton Collegiate Riverhawks
A recent Grande Prairie high school graduate and minor baseball player will attend post-secondary in Edmonton this fall, while hitting the diamond with the Edmonton Collegiate Riverhawks.
Kallan Taylor-Gagne will be attending the University of Alberta, pursuing a bachelor’s of kinesiology, while pitching for the Riverhawks.
Different from the Edmonton Riverhawks, the college team is made up of local post-secondary students; competing on either the varsity team against other teams in the Canadian College Baseball Conference (CCBC), or with the Junior Varsity team playing top high school programs, and other JV programs inside the CCBC.
Taylor-Gagne will now have to attend the Riverhawks training camp and tryout, to determine if he starts the season on either Varsity or JV.
