Jul 24, 2024 | 12:26 PM

The City of Grande Prairie is set to begin its annual Bridge Repair and Maintenance Program Friday.

The annual initiative aims to ensure the safety, functionality and longevity of the city’s bridge infrastructure by addressing various repair needs including washing, sealing concrete structure and partial depth concrete repairs.

Vehicle Bridges:

  • 108 Street (near Centre 2000) – both bridges
  • 100 Avenue westbound
  • 68 Avenue – both bridges

Bridge Culverts:

  • 92 Street, south of 84 Avenue
  • South of 100 Avenue/Hwy 43

Pedestrian Bridges:

  • Waxwing Trail Yellow Bridge (southwest of Muskoseepi Park)
  • Waxwing Trail Yellow Bridge (southeast of Muskoseepi Park)
  • Pedestrian bridge near 79 Avenue
  • Kayak Launch: Access to the Kayak Launch will be restricted as the current structure is removed and the area is restored.

While the work is ongoing short-term closure will be implemented on vehicle bridges, traffic speed will be reduced near bridge culverts, and pedestrian bridges will have varying level of access restrictions.
