Fundraiser for Jasper

Alberta Day of Caring

Jul 31, 2024 | 12:18 PM

Alberta Day of Caring will run throughout Wednesday, July 31

During the day Albertans are invited to support Jasper evacuees, with three different ways to provide donations; Through the Alberta Day of Caring website, texting the word ‘RADIO‘ to 20222 to donate $10 to the Alberta Fires Appeal, or by taking bottle donations to any depot in Alberta, and saying, “these are for Jasper.”

Money raised throughout the day will then be matched by both the provincial and federal governments.

As of 4:45 p.m., donations have reached $449,615.

A fundraiser community barbecue is also planned at Save-on-Foods in Grande Prairie from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. today.

Donations will be accepted and matched by Save-on-Foods during the event.

This initiative, led by Pattison Media and other Alberta radio stations, was designed to raise funds for Jasper and those affected by the wildfires.

Earlier in the day, members of the Big Country 93.1, 98.9 Rewind Radio, and EverythingGP teams went to the Resources Road bottle depot and made donations of their own.
