Eric Stamp

January 21, 1934 – August 3, 2024
Eric Stamp, a long-time resident of the County of Grande Prairie, and recent resident of the Hythe & District Pioneer Home, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital at the age of 90 years.
Eric was born on January 21, 1934, at the family farm, south of Wembley. He was immediately followed by his twin brother, Gustav, with whom he spent the next 90 years. Eric and Gus went to school and to the Vermillion School of Agriculture together then came back to farm together SE of Wembley.
In addition to farming, Eric worked for many years for the Dimsdale Recreation Society, The Wembley Agricultural Society, and was on the Board of Directors for the United Farmers of Alberta. Eric and Gus enjoyed travelling to many different locations. They especially enjoyed visiting their relatives in Germany.
Eric will be deeply missed by his twin brother Gustav (Marie) and his brother, Herman (Margaret), his close friend Maureen Volden, and nephews and nieces: Kelvin (Moe) and their three daughters, Natasha, Nikita and family, Erika and family, and Randy and Carrie and their families.
Eric was predeceased by his father Werner Stamp, his mother, Minnie Stamp (nee Thiessen), his brother, Uwe Stamp and his sister, Sonia Lieler (Rico) and nephew, Darren Stamp.
Cremation has taken place at the Bear Creek Funeral Home. Friends are invited to a Memorial service to be held at Bear Creek Funeral Home 11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie, on August 17, 2024 at 3pm.
Donations in memory of Eric may be made to STARS or the BC & Alberta Guide Dog Program.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Florentine Duda and the staff of the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital, and to the staff of the Hythe & District Pioneer Home, and to Carolyn Greentree, for the care that they provided to Eric.
