County offices now open over lunch

Starting Tuesday, September 3, 2024, the County of Grande Prairie’s offices will now remain open over the lunch hour.

The hours of operation for the County’s Administration, Transportation and Utilities, and Community Services Buildings are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no lunch hour service disruptions now. The only times the building will not be open to the public are for statutory holidays and on occasion for all-staff events.

The decision to extend the hours was made during a County Council meeting on August 12, 2024.

Previously, the offices closed for an hour lunch and were only open fully through lunch to accommodate with annual property tax payment season near the end of June.

The County says this change supports its Strategic Plan, which identifies “Customer Service Excellence” as a key outcome.
