County of Grande Prairie Council approves additional funding for Hythe Valve Replacement Project

County of Grande Prairie Council has approved additional funding, reallocated from the Alberta Community Partnership Grant. for a project to replace all the watermain valves in the Hythe Wellhouse 1 water system.

Council approved the request for over $300,000 to add to the existing $550,000 budget for the work at its Monday meeting.

In mid April, council had reallocated $950,000 from the ACP grant to Hythe utilities projects, including the valve replacement, lagoon assessment, and the Hythe Recreation Facilities Water Supply project.

Council has awarded the valve project to Green Acre Ventures ltd.

Council directed administration to bring the lagoon project back for consideration during the 2025 Interim Budget meetings in December, and approved a change in funding source for the recreation facilities project to come from general taxation
