Fall arrives Sunday morning

Sep 21, 2024 | 6:00 AM

Fall officially arrives Sunday morning.

The Old Farmers Almanac says the autumnal equinox happens at 6:44 a.m. Alberta time on Sunday, September 22.

The almanac says on its website that the equinox happens when the sun’s centre crosses an imaginary line in space that is an extension of the equator, going north to south.

While fall is starting in the Northern Hemisphere, September 22 will mark the first day of spring in the southern hemisphere.
