Grande Prairie Museum hosting Book Launch Event Wednesday night
A new book showcasing an expedition through the Peace River Country is having a launch event at the Grande Prairie Museum tonight.
In 1911, Hulbert Footner and Auville Eager journeyed through Northern B.C. and the Peace River Country to the Hay River, taking over 120 photographs and later publishing a book featuring some of those photos called New Rivers of the North.
Now, editors David Leonard and Brock Silversides have compiled together those photos, alongside journal entries maps and editorial commentary to release New Rivers of the North Revisited, offering an even more detailed perspective of Northwest Canada at the beginning of the twentieth century.
The museum will be hosting a launch party for the book, including a presentation from Leonard and book sales at a reduced price; the event begins at 7:00 p.m.
