Fairview emergency department undergoes another “temporary disruption”

The Fairview emergency department will once again be without an onsite physician for 24 hours starting on the morning of Friday, October 5.

No doctor will be in the ED from 7 a.m. on Friday untill 7 am Saturday, October 6. Nursing staff will remain onsite to perform urgent triage and assessments.

EMS will also remain available, rerouting calls to nearby facilities.

AHS says this disruption could be cancelled if coverage is found.

This disruption marks the third at the Faivriew Health Complex this week, with one 48-hour closure expected next week.
