The County of Grande Prairie has announced its new Superintendent of Regional Enforcement Services.

Kyle Palfy, will take over the role as of Monday, October 21 and use his “26 years of comprehensive policing experience, including 13 years in leadership roles with the Grande Prairie RCMP, to enhance public safety and strengthen Regional Enforcement Services.”

During Palfy’s time at the Mclennan RCMP detachment he successfully undertook a rewrite of Emergency Operations plans; along with various strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and financial management roles with the Western District and Battleford RCMP detachments.

According to the County Manager Joulia Whittleton, Palfy was chosen to replace retiring Superintendent Stuart Rempel, due to “his extensive experience and commitment to community engagement, (which) align perfectly with the County’s proactive and progressive approach to Enforcement Services.”

In the release, Palfy expressed his excitement for the new role and added; “Together, we can build a safer, more resilient community.”

Palfy will now replace the outgoing Superintendent Stuart Rempel, who is retiring after 30 years with County Regional Enforcement Services.
