Promoting Alberta’s environmental leadership at the 2024 Arctic Circle Assembly
In an effort to amplify Alberta’s reputation as a responsible energy leader, Parliamentary Secretary for Economic Corridor Development Shane Getson is attending the 2024 Arctic Circle Assembly in Reyljavik, Iceland.
Getson will attend from Oct. 15-20 and is expected to use the time to connect with international officials and private sector leaders to share about Alberta’s efforts in environmental policy, clean technology, and innovation.
The assembly should also provide a forum for gaining insight into opportunities for Alberta to support and partner with Arctic jurisdictions in their energy and emissions management goals.
“Alberta has a lot to offer when it comes to shaping a sustainable and resilient future for the Arctic and the rest of the world. I am honoured to have this opportunity to engage with international delegates on key issues facing the region,” comments Getson. “I will share how Alberta is perfectly positioned to contribute to the global transition away from emissions through our groundbreaking leadership in responsible energy development, renewable energy technologies and emissions reductions standards.”
