Peace River RCMP & Fire Services respond to “large structure fire”

Peace River RCMP is asking residents to avoid the north-end area of the town as fire services work to put out a large blaze.

Residents are asked to avoid 77 Avenue specifically, to allow for the free flow of emergency vehicles responding to the structure fire.

The Town of Peace River said on social media that the fire is at an apartment building in the 99 Street and 77 Ave area, and it is under control and the building has been evacuated.

At this time, a reception centre for anyone displaced by this blaze has been set up at the Baytex Energy Centre on 73 Avenue.
