Structure fire at Sexsmith Grocery early Sunday morning

The County Regional Fire Service responded to a structure fire at the Sexsmith Grocery on Sunday.

At 12:45 a.m., crews from Sexsmith, Clairmont, Dunes, Wembley, and Teepee Creek responded to a commercial structure fire, finding smoke and flames visible inside the building.

Crews worked quickly to contain the fire by accessing it through the roof and access walls, and ensured all hot spots were fully extinguished with no reported injuries.

The County Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire; there is no word yet on any lasting conditions for the grocery store.
