The Northwest Junior Hockey League will now be known as the STRIKE GROUP Northwest Junior Hockey League following a multi-year deal with the Strike Group to be the league’s sponsor.

The league says it’s excited and proud of the incoming long term working and corporate relationship with the Strike Group in the deal.

The company is a western Canadian oilfield services, maintenance, and construction company. It has local offices in High Level and Grande Prairie; serving northwestern Alberta and northeastern B.C.

NWJHL President, Peter Burletoff said in a new release; “The NWJHL is thrilled to have the Strike Group on board and we look forward to a long and beneficial partnership for both groups.”

“Furthermore, while the Strike Group stretches across the four Western Provinces, the two local offices in Grande Prairie and High Level serve the same business sector and fan base in Northwest Alberta and Northeast BC as the league reaches to our 8 member clubs,” Burletoff added.

Strike Group High Level and Grande Prairie Area managers, Vlad Kopaev and Glen Bauer also said in the joint release; “The Strike Group is proud to now be part of the NWJHL and look forward to a long standing relationship. One of our core values is to support the communities we work and live in, and we feel this relationship with the NWJHL is another opportunity for the Strike Group to carry that out.”
