Beaverlodge community mourns three locals

Nov 13, 2024 | 12:56 PM

The community of Beaverlodge is honouring the lives of three people, following a fatal vehicle collision on November 1.

Mother and son, Sherri and Anson Babuik, and former Grande Prairie resident Brian Wheeler were remembered with a moment of silence during the Blade’s last home game over the weekend.

A celebration of life was hosted in Wheeler’s honour at Beaverlodge Alliance Church on Sunday, November 10, while a funeral service for Sherri and Anson Babuik was held the same day at Willowview Auctions.

According to Beaverlodge Funeral Service, the Babuiks will be remembered as outgoing, hardworking people who were the “glue” of many families; Wheeler will be remembered through his vision of building a chapel, that is already half complete and looking to be finished in his memory.

Anyone interested in helping support the completion of Wheeler’s Chapel can send donations to Jane Wheelers’ name (PO Box 140, Tomslake, BC, V0C 2L0) or e-transfer wheelerjane222@gmail.com.
