Peace Country high school volleyball teams scattered around Alberta for provincials

A bunch of high school volleyball teams from the Peace are at provincials this week.

The Charles Spencer boy’s and girl’s teams are in Lethbridge for the 4A championships. The Mavericks boys are seeded eighth while the girls are ranked number 12.

The St. Joe’s girl’s team is at 3A provincials in Ponoka, where they are the number 1 seed out of the 12 participating teams.

Beaverlodge Regional High School is the number four seed at the 3A boys in Lloydminster.

The Sexsmith Secondary School girls are the number three seed at 2A provincials in Wainwright.

Glenmary School in Peace River is hosting 2A boy’s provincials. La Crete is also among the teams taking part. Glenmary is the seventh seed, La Crete eleventh.

Manning’s Paul Rowe Junior Senior High School is at the 1A girl’s championship in Bonnyville, where they are seeded tenth.

St. Thomas More from Fairview is the number 4 seed at the 1A boys in Pincher Creek.

Games for all these championships start Thursday. with the winners being decided on Saturday.
