Grande Prairie Salvation Army encouraging in-person donations
Captain Peter Kim with the Grande Prairie Salvation Army has shared an update on the Christmas Kettle Campaign.
At the end of November, the total sat at $96,136.87.
However, according to Kim, donations are down from last year due to the ongoing mail strike; so he hopes residents put “their mail-in donations at a local Kettle this year” instead.
According to the Salvation Army, more people are accessing local food banks which has led to this year’s total goal of $650,000, up from previous years.
