Walter Paszkowski Farm Leadership Award applications open until January 10

Alberta Canola says applications are open for its Walter Paszkowski Farm Leadership Award.

One canola farmer in Alberta will be given $5000 bursary to participate in the National Farm Leadership Program for 2025.

It is meant to develop leaders and is meant to fit into what a release from Alberta Canola calls a “hectic farm life.”

The award was announced at Alberta Canola’s annual general meeting that was held in January of 2024 in Grande Prairie.

Paszkowski farmed near Sexsmith for many years, served in several community roles and as a cabinet minister and MLA when Ralph Klein was premier. He was also an important figure in the development of the canola industry.
