Uttering threats complaint leads to 100th Street heavy police presence

Jan 1, 2025 | 8:20 PM

Grande Prairie RCMP say they have cleared all resources from the area west of 100 Street, between 79 and 80 Avenues.

Earlier today (Wednesday, January 1), Mounties had established a “heavy police presence” in the area, but said in an earlier release that there was “no ongoing risk to the public.”

In an update, Mounties said they responded to the area after receiving a complaint of someone “uttering threats against a person.”

RCMP said an update will be provided when “more information becomes available,” and they also thanked the public for their patience and understanding.
