Valleyview Health Centre without on-site physician for 18 hours

Alberta Health Services says the Valleyview Health Centre Emergency Department will be without an on-site physician for 18 hours starting today (Monday, January 13).

Due to an inability to secure physician coverage, there will be no on-site physician from 4:30 p.m.Monday to 7:00 a.m.Tuesday, January 14.

Nursing staff will remain on-site in the emergency department providing urgent triage, assessments and referrals for patients to alternate emergency departments in neighbouring communities.

AHS says if more coverage is found, the disruption may be cancelled.
