Wind warning issued for majority of Alberta

Jan 16, 2025 | 8:16 AM

Environment Canada is forecasting strong winds to take over most of the province today.

Wind warnings have been issued for the entirety of the Peace Country, excluding Manning and Peavine/Gift Lake areas.

The weather office says to expect strong northwest winds of up to 90 km/h on Thursday afternoon.

Winds are forecast to weaken in the evening, but loose objects can be tossed by these strong winds and could cause injuries or damages.

People travelling on highways, especially in high profile vehicles, could see hazardous driving conditions due to strong cross winds. Please drive to the conditions.
