Team Skrlik wins 2025 Alberta Women’s Provincial Championship

Peace Region women, Nampa’s Kayla and Ashton Skrlik, are set to represent the province once again at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts next month. Team Skrlik went 4-4 in their first Hearts appearance in 2023.

Team Skrlik, out of Garrison Curling Centre in Calgary, edged Edmonton’s Thistle Curling Club’s Nicky Kaufman 6-5 in 10 ends to win the Alberta Women’s Provincial Championship on Sunday. The competition was held down in Rimbey.

The Skrlik team lost just one game early in the tournament to Sexsmith’s Robyn Silvernagle rink.

Team Skrlik consists of: Skip Kayla Skrlik, second Ashton Skrlik, third Margot Flemming, lead Geri-Lynn Ramsay, and alternate Crystal Webster.

The Scotties Tournament of Heart is slated for February 14-23 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The winner of the Scotties will go on to represent Canada at the World Women’s Curling Championship in South Korea March 15-23.
