Jan 27, 2025 | 12:22 PM

The County of Grande Prairie has announced their 2025 Farm Family.

The Alde family is being recognized for their blending of history and innovation with a steadfast commitment to agriculture, sustainability, and community.

Kreg and Lee-Anne Alde fmaily are the current owners of Broken Tine Orchard. The farm was first established in 1927 by Kreg’s great-grandparents.

Kreg and Lee-Anne run the 2,400-acre operation producing wheat, canola, and barley and a 30-acre haskap berry orchard alongside their children Nevada and Konnor.

Kreg says it means a great deal for his farm and family to be recognized by the County, noting when you support your community, it supports you in return.

County Councillor Bob Chrenek says the Alde family’s commitment to an enhanced business model demonstrates how farm families can adapt and evolve while continuing to grow and innovate.

The County will be celebrating the Alde family in March as part of the Peace County Classic Agri-Show on March 7.
