Arline Joyce Joan Kutschinski
June 18, 1937 – September 28, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Arline Joyce Joan Kutschinski, lovingly known as “Joansie,” on September 28, 2024, at the Gene Zwozdesky Centre in Edmonton. Surrounded by her family, Joan left this world as she lived it—deeply loved and cherished.
Joan was born on June 18, 1937, to Richard and Mary Conway in Castle Point, Manitoba. She grew up with a love for family that would define her life. On November 28, 1959, Joan married, Manny Kutschinski, at St. Ann’s Church in St. James, Manitoba. Together, they embarked on an extraordinary journey, moving to Alberta in 1962 with their two young sons, Larry and Lonny, and soon welcoming two more boys, Kevin and Shawn.
Joan was the heart and soul of her family. A woman of endless love, sass and generosity, she was always there for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. Known for her kind spirit, she never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion, often marking them with thoughtful cards and heartfelt messages. Her love of pictures and videos of her great-grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she proudly shared them with everyone she met.
Her warmth and selflessness left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was more than a mother, wife, sister, and grandmother—she was the glue that held her family together and a light that will never be extinguished.
Joan is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Manny; her sister, Carol; her sons Lonny (Brenda), Kevin, and Shawn (Linda); her ‘honorary kids’ Kerry (Dwayne) and Klayton (Marcia); her grandchildren Rick, Kim (Tyron), Jaclynn (Chris), Cole (Ashlea), Brandon (Rylie), and Ryan (Deb); and her great-grandchildren Jersie, Kodi, Malia, Lila, Royce, and Rose.
She was predeceased by her beloved son Larry, her parents Richard and Mary, her brother Rich, her brother-in-law Don, and many dear friends who touched her life along the way.
Joansie leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, resilience, and unwavering devotion to family. While her presence will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
