2024 edition of Alberta Open Farm Days breaks attendance record

Jan 30, 2025 | 5:50 PM

Organizers with Alberta Open Farm Days say attendance broke a record in 2024.

They say Open Farm Days attracted 52,000 visitors in 2024 compared to 36,000 in 2023.

“We were very excited about Alberta Open Farm Days 2024. We saw a notable increase in the number of participating farms, with more than 150 farms opening their doors to Albertans,” says Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies CEO Tim Carson in a news release.

Since it started, Alberta Open Farm Days has generated $1.7 million in sales. On-farm sales passed $300,000 for the first time last year. Organizers think this is an indication that “visitors are eager to support Alberta’s agricultural industry.”

“Since its humble beginnings, Alberta Open Farm Days has grown, and many hosts have grown along with it. We are confident the future will continue to provide new and fun ways to discover and experience the Alberta agriculture story,” adds Carson in that same release.

The 13th edition of Alberta Open Farm Days is set for August 16 and 17, 2025.
