Jan 31, 2025 | 1:36 PM

A High Prairie resident was arrested Tuesday after a vehicle fled a traffic stop.

Alberta’s Community Response Team was assisting the High Prairie RCMP targeting offenders in the area, when they witnessed a vehicle failing to stop at a sign.

When a traffic stop was attempted, the vehicle began driving into oncoming traffic, stopping at a residence in Gift Lake First Nation.

The occupant of the vehicle fled on foot but was later apprehended with assistance from police dog services.

Twenty-eight-year-old High Prairie resident Evan Anderson has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from a police officer, and obstructing/resisting a police officer.

Anderson is to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in High Prairie Monday.
