Pleasant View Lodge accepting residents in need of Type B CCH spaces

Type B continuing care home spaces are now open at Pleasant View Lodge in Spirit River.

A Type B space provides 24-hour on-site scheduled and unscheduled support using licensed practical nurses and healthcare aids.

The new lodge, located at 5120 44 Avenue, was developed following a $24 million capital funding injection from the province and the federal government.

MLA for Central Peace-Notley Todd Loewen says having these spaces ensures more residents receive the level of care they need in a safe and supportive environment for both couples and single individuals.

The facility began accepting residents in November to provide a higher level of care closer to home for residents with medical conditions like dementia.

The Grande Spirit Foundation manages accommodation for residents, while Alberta Health Services is responsible for the care needs of Type B residents.
