Feb 7, 2025 | 5:08 PM

UPDATE 1: Sexsmith’s Daylen Vavrek will play Calgary’s Jamie King in a C Event qualifier Saturday afternoon. Vavrek advanced with a 7-4 win over Johnson Tao Friday evening.

The winner there will play the winner of the other C Event qualifier between two Edmonton rinks, Zach Davies and Jacob Libbus, in the 3/4 Page playoff game.

Evan Van Amsterdam will take on Kevin Koe in the 1/2 game. Van Amsterdam beat Libbus 7-6 in Friday night’s B Event qualifier.

Both Page playoff games will be played Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m. The semi-final is set for 10 a.m. Sunday, the final at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The Alberta men’s curling championship continues in Stettler.

Evan Van Amsterdam beat Sherwood Park’s Johnson Tao Friday afternoon to advance to the B Event qualifier.

The Van Amsterdam team curls out of Edmonton but includes Jason Ginter and Sterling Middleton, who are originally from Dawson Creek and Fort St. John respectively.

Daylen Vavrek’s Sexsmith team will play in a C Event game against Cole Adams at 5:30 p.m. Friday after the Calgary rink lost 8-2 to Jacob Libbus from Edmonton Friday afternoon.

The win means the Libbus team will play Van Amsterdam in the B Event qualifier, also in the 5:30 draw on Friday.

Kevin Koe downed Adams 9-7 Thursday night in the A Event qualifier. Koe used to live in Grande Prairie and now curls out of Calgary.
