Extreme cold warnings in place

Environment Canada has issued extreme cold warnings for most of Alberta, including the Peace Country.

Wind chills from -40 to -45 are expected overnight Sunday before moderating on Monday.

The weather office is advising people to cover up as frostbite can occur within minutes in these conditions.

The warnings take in all of northern Alberta, along with most of the eastern half of the province.

Edmonton, Lloydminster, Red Deer, Medicine Hat and Lethbridge are among the cities included in the warnings.
