Grande Prairie couple wins $54m lottery

A married couple from Grande Prairie has just won $54 million.

Sandra and Travis Fredland purchased their LOTTO 6/49 winning tickets from the Westgate New Horizon Co-op.

Travis says he checked his ticket three times before speaking to a cashier and confirming their win.

The Fredlands says they are planning a trip to Palm Springs to enjoy the win, and that they will take their time to figure out what to do with the rest of their winnings.

They won their prize in the December 28 Gold Ball Draw.
