Paul Arndt – December 20, 1943- February 16, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Robert Arndt on Feb 16, 2025 at the age of 81. Paul passed away in Bullhead City, Arizona on his way home from a great vacation.
Paul was born in London, England on December 20, 1943. Paul and his mother moved to Canada in 1947 and made this there home. Paul grew up on the farm in Legal area and later moved to Edmonton to finish his schooling. He worked in Edmonton and area and this is where he met his wife Darlene and married in 1970. From this union a son, Ken, was born.
He worked in the oilfield for many years. Paul and Darlene formed Adobe Transport, an oilfield trucking company, which they operated for several years before moving to Elk Point for Westmin Resoures and later moved to Calgary. Paul worked here until his retirement in 1999. At that time, they moved to Grande Prairie to be near family. Paul loved to travel and travelled to destinations such as England, Scotland, the US, Mexico, Canada, cruising the Caribbean as well as several trips to Campbell River to fish for Salmon.
He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed golf, hockey, and baseball. He was a die-hard Edmonton Oiler fan as well as The Toronto Blue Jays. He was fortunate to have attended many Oilers games as well as travel to see his Blue Jays. He would spend the summers golfing or visiting friends he acquired through travel and working. He formed many great friendships thru out his life and cherished all his time spent with them.
Paul is survived by his wife Darlene Arndt (nee Housman), son Ken Arndt (Amber) of Grande Prairie, brother Brian and his family in England, brother-in-law Randy and family as well as many dear friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Rose Arndt, Father-In-law William and mother-in-law Anne Housman.
Celebration of life is planned for a later date.
