A Peace Region company has been acquitted of occupational health and safety charges dating back to 2020.
At the end of February, Blue Collar Silviculture Ltd. was found not guilty of eight counts of violating OHS legislation in Peace River Court.
The charges stemmed from an incident in July of 2020, when a tree planter was struck by a falling tree in Mackenzie County; resulting in death.
The Crown now has 30 days or until March 23 to appeal the acquittal.
