County of Grande Prairie requiring residents to register to vote in 2025 Municipal Election

Mar 6, 2025 | 11:55 AM

As part of their municipal election in the Fall, the County of Grande Prairie requires all residents to register before voting.

Following recent changes to Alberta’s Local Authorities Act, the County is required to use a list of registered voters during municipal elections to streamline the process.

Election officer Carol Gabriel says anyone who hasn’t registered in advance will be required to do so on-site.

Gabriel says residents may already be registered from a previous provincial election and should double-check if their information is correct.

You can register online at voterlink.ab.ca. or by calling 780-427-7191.
